by Griffin, Rick
Perigee Books/G.P.Putnam's Sons
This is a very good softcover copy with only light wear. Completely clean inside and out. Spine not creased. Just very slight wear to cover edges and a couple of soft, faint creases to the lower right corner of the front cover (hardly noticeable). Short introduction by McClelland gives a brief biographical sketch of Griffin's education at Chouinard Art School in California (now Cal Arts), and his early interest in surfing and music. His move to San Francisco, the glory years in the late 1960's and Griffin's sudden conversion to Christianity all are explored here. Profusely illustrated in color and black & white with many full-page color plates. Entries for some illustrations discuss Griffin's relatationships with the other great illustrators and artists of the period. Large 4to, 11" high X 8" wide, 95 pages. A great copy.
