Collins is a neglected master photographer whose work spans the 20th century from evocative shots of Paris around the time of World War 1 to his commercial work for Kodak through several decades he shows a remarkable eye for composition and subject matter, turning even the most mundane commercial photo-shoot into a seminar on modernist photo styles.
